An addition to our shop equipment in 2013 was a Mazak Optonics Optiplex 3015 4000 Watt Flying Optics CO2 Laser. Material capacities of .394” stainless steel, .875” carbon steel and .315” aluminum has allowed AWI additional processing capabilities with higher accuracy.

With positioning accuracy of .002” in the X/Y axis and .0004 in the Z axis and a repeatability of .0012 it is one of the most accurate machines available today. The dual bed has allowed AWI to improve efficiencies by more than 50%.
